Editorial Docentes 2.0
Grupo Docentes 2.0's imprint, dedicated to getting educational research to the people who can use it.
Research that goes unread transforms nothing. Thousands of rigorous theses end up every year in repositories almost no one visits, while the teachers who could apply those findings never learn of them. Editorial Docentes 2.0 exists to close that distance.
What we do
We are an academic press specialized in two things: turning theses into books for a rigorous general audience, and publishing original, unpublished works on education, innovation, and teaching practice. We are not a print shop or a self-publishing service: we select, evaluate, and provide editorial guidance for every book we publish.
Where we come from
The press grows out of the academic ecosystem that Grupo Docentes 2.0 has sustained for years across Latin America and Spain, and it inherits that editorial experience and those standards:
- Revista Docentes 2.0 — a peer-reviewed scientific journal, with an established editorial process and years of continuous publication.
- Congreso CIVTAC — the Virtual International Conference on Learning and Knowledge Technologies, now in its 17th edition, with speakers from across the region.
- Premio Líder Docentes 2.0 — an Ibero-American recognition for teaching excellence, with an evaluation committee and public rubrics.
The book was the missing format. This press adds it under the same standard: prior evaluation, a transparent process, and respect for authorship.
Our purpose
That a piece of research stop being an archived document and become a book that someone reads, cites, and applies in their classroom.
We work from a simple conviction: educational knowledge produced across Latin America and Spain deserves to circulate with the same editorial quality as any other region's, and its authors deserve a professional process that respects their work.
How we publish
- Digital first. We publish ebooks, most of them open access: anyone can read and download them at no cost.
- Print on demand as a later stage. Every book is laid out from the start in a print-ready format.
- Spanish and English. We publish in Spanish, the language of the Ibero-American teaching community we serve, and also in English, for the books and authors that call for it.
Our commitment
- We evaluate every proposal and always share the outcome.
- Authorship always belongs to the author; the scope of any rights assignment is agreed in writing and in plain language.
- We publish with an ISBN, a copyright page, and a citable bibliographic record.
- We do not promise what we cannot deliver: we describe our processes as they actually are.
Institutional identifiers
The press is part of Grupo Docentes 2.0, an organization registered with the Research Organization Registry (ROR), the open, global registry of research organizations. This persistent identifier lets the metadata of our books be attributed unambiguously to the institution in catalogs, aggregators, and bibliographic databases, regardless of how the name is spelled.
When citing or indexing a book from this imprint, you may use the ROR to identify the publishing entity. Each book also carries its own ISBN and Legal Deposit number, and authors are identified by ORCID when they have one.
